River Rail Historic Street Car Project Brings Back Electric Trolleys .......................................................

Mobley Contractors performs a $10.9 Million contract for the Central Arkansas Transit Authority (CATA) in Little Rock, Arkansas to construct an ElectricTrolley Rail System to Bring back the River Rail Historic Street Car to Little Rock.  An electric streetcar system is being installed via the River Rail Historic Street Car Project.  The electric streetcar system will be installed on existing right-of-ways connecting the Alltel Arena, The River Market District and the State House Convention Center in Little Rock and communities of North Little Rock and Pulaski County.  The streetcar route will use the Main Street Bridge to connect the two cities.

This project will allow streetcars to once again rumble over tracks in the downtowns of Little Rock and North Little Rock.  The trolleys will operate on approximately 2 miles of new track utilizing an overhead contact system (OCS).
